A fairy garden made from Polystyrene (thermacol) scrap with some plastic plants and some real plant cuttings. The real plant cuttings remain fresh for about 4 to 5 days; when dry, they are replaced with fresh ones. All miniature articles are also made by me. Fairy gardens are miniature table-top landscapes.
Styrofoam, commonly called as Thermacol is extensively used for packing electrical/electronic appliances. It is also being used for decorations in many of our religious or other functions. The discarded pieces are nuisance & are not biodegradable.
So I made some tabletop landscapes from the discarded pieces. I know that this is not going to solve the problems caused by it being discarded. But that's what best I could do. The entire landscapes are made from Styrofoam. In Machan landscape, even the tree trunk is made of Styrofoam.
